# Set up Livi for the user Livi puts widgets on the user's iPhone that you, the agent, control: their Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy. You can also ask them questions they answer with one tap. Walk them through this one step at a time. Wait for them at each step; don't dump it all at once. ## Step 1. Get the Livi app on their iPhone Ask whether they already have Livi on their iPhone. If they do, skip to step 2. If not, Livi is in beta on TestFlight. Show them this QR code to scan with their iPhone camera: curl -s "https://ujtuxanqlzmhnrzijfoo.supabase.co/functions/v1/connect?qr=testflight" -o livi-testflight.png && open livi-testflight.png (Linux: xdg-open. Or print it in the terminal: curl -s "https://ujtuxanqlzmhnrzijfoo.supabase.co/functions/v1/connect?qr=testflight&format=text") Or give them the link to open on the iPhone: https://testflight.apple.com/join/b1yP56hR Tell them: 1. Scan the code. It opens TestFlight. If they don't have TestFlight, it asks to install it first. 2. Tap Accept, then Install. 3. Open Livi and sign in (Sign in with Apple is quickest). 4. Tell you when they see the Livi home screen. ## Step 2. Get a code and show it to them Use your own name, like "Claude Code", "Codex" or "Cursor": curl -s "https://ujtuxanqlzmhnrzijfoo.supabase.co/functions/v1/connect?start=1&name=Claude%20Code" It prints an 8-character code like K7QX-29PL, a QR for it, and the command to wait with. Show them the code, big and clear, and say: "Open Livi, tap +, and type this code. Or scan the QR with your iPhone's camera." The QR opens Livi with the code already filled in; they just tap Connect. ## Step 3. Wait for them to enter it Run the wait command it gave you. It waits up to 50 seconds; run it again while it says "Still waiting". The moment they enter the code, it prints your own Livi token and exactly how to finish: learn Livi, add the MCP server, and make a test widget while they watch it appear. Follow those steps to the end. Tell them what you did and which Livi account you joined (the email in the reply), so they can check it's theirs. The code works once, for 15 minutes. If it expires, run step 2 again for a new one. ## Keep it safe - Show the user only the 8-character code. The waiting secret (lvw_...) and your token (lv_...) are yours alone: never print them in chat, commit them, or put them in a URL you share. - Only ever ask the user to type a code into Livi that you just got yourself, for them. - Store your token where your other secrets live (your MCP config or an environment variable). ## More agents Every agent connects the same way with its own code: send it this link too, or let the user tap + in Livi again. Each agent gets its own key, which they can pause or disconnect in Livi. Chat apps that can't run commands (the Claude app, ChatGPT) connect differently: in Livi, tap +, choose the app under "Or add Livi as a connector", and paste the private link it gives into that app. ## Then Read the full guide before building anything: https://livi-widgets.vercel.app/skill.md
